Girl Scouts of Central & Southern New Jersey Honor CCFA Founder / Executive Director
Four years ago the Center for Child and Family Achievement initiated a partnership with Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, seeking resources for girls at the Gregory School that promote leadership development and empowering experiences. Girls Scouts participated in our annual book festivals, distributing literature “I Can Do It” and gifts. The girls were excited and their parents expressed interest, CCFA’s “Lead to Achieve” established Troop 70231, in addition to facilitating a Girl Scout Troop at Columbus School in Trenton.
The April 6th Girl Scouts of Central & South New Jersey’s volunteer recognition event “Celebrate” honored Wanda Webster Stansbury, Founder and Executive Director CCFA, as one of the Outstanding Community Partners. Her leadership journey began as a “Brownie” Girl Scout in Red Bank, NJ. Today she remains a member with a mission to promote Girl Scouting. CCFA responds to the unique needs of girls in an economically challenging urban community; Books, role models, mentors, providing new coats, gloves hats, shoes, boots, hygiene and health items as well as gifts to celebrate Christmas and other holidays. Wanda and her husband Charles enjoyed a delicious breakfast, catching up with Tanya Hemmingway, meeting dynamic and inspiring leaders; Ginny Marino, Kimberly Bryson, Andrea Miller and Angela Joyner and Outstanding Community Partners. Special thanks to Yolanda L. Robinson our first Troop Leader 70231, Kate Henkel current Troop Leader and Ms. Jessica Kirk dedicated parent volunteer.
