CCFA’s Approach to closing the Achievement Gap recognizes the power of “families learning and achieving together” on Thursday night March 21st at the Gregory School Technology Night coordinated by Parent Liaison Patricia Planter. Ms. Harris, Principal gave an inspiring challenge to the parents for students to use their technology resources. Ms Jacquay gave parents and students a hands on demonstration of Google Classroom and Chrome Book Basics. The attendees which included 9 parents and students participating in the CCFA Fourth Grade Digital Initiative, PTO President Teia Robertson, Ms. Constanza, and Ms. Rice. Nicola Whittington and Eloise Layton, CCFA parent volunteers who conduct outreach to engage the Fourth Grade parents and students, were also in attendance. Refreshments were provided. Parents commented that they felt the Technology Workshop was very helpful. Additional school wide Technology workshops are being planned by Ms. Harris. CCFA was excited to see a positive level of participation from the fourth graders participating in the digital initiative. The next is April 11th from 5:30-7:30pm.
