Back to School Night
The Center for Child and Family Achievement (CCFA) participated in another successful “Back to School Night” at the Gregory School on September 28th. The evening was filled with lots of excitement and positive expectations from students and parents for a “Great Gregory” school year under the dynamic leadership team of Ms. Janette Harris, Principal and Ms. Alicia Constanza, Vice Principal. CCFA’s newest community partner the Trenton Children’s Chorus, represented by Alice Lightner and our long time partners; Tannya Hemmingway, Girl Scouts Troop 70231 and Dana Kuhns, Boys Scouts Troop 8 provided recruitment information and giveaways .
CCFA distributed over 100 Back to School Supply bags donated by Christine Hope for Kids, students also selected books for their home libraries and received additional school supplies from Nassau Christian Center, Princeton, NJ. CCFA’s resource table included tips for a Successful School year, promoting the importance of the family routine, attendance and dedicating 30 minutes to read daily. Over 200 students and their parents attended. CCFA gives special thanks and appreciation to our Parent Partner volunteers, Ms. Patricia Planter, Parent Liaison and Ms. Jacquelynn M. Rice, CCFA Site Liaison for an outstanding school year kickoff.
