CCFA Partners with Walk in Your Child’s Footsteps at Gregory School

The Annual “Walk in Your Child’s Footsteps” Program is an event spear headed by NJEA’s Families and Schools Together Work for Children, held on October 11th at the Gregory School, coordinated by Patricia Planter with help from Ms. Rice and Ms. Rivers. It was a very special day for students to have their parents, grandparents and guardians spend time with them in the classroom, side by side learning. The hallways of Gregory School were filled with excitement as students proudly escorted their parents to classes with them and shared examples of their work. The day was a success with over 80 parents participating. A beautiful Tree was provided in the hallway for those attending to sign an “Apple” with the Parent’s Pledge and write their child’s name. Students enjoyed looking for their Parent’s Pledge, as they passed the tree.

The Center for Child & Family Achievement’s “Read to Achieve” Program provided books for parents to select for their home libraries and resource information on the importance of school attendance and reading 30 minutes a day. CCFA looks forward to partnering with the Parent Liaison every year to inspire “Families Learning and Achieving Together”.
